Rolf Wilke – one of the greats in both MRC and Swedish rugby has passed away. Rolf started playing rugby in the club as early as 1954 and over time there were a total of 316 matches for the club and several SM gold medals. He was team captain for many years and in 1962 he became chairman for a short period, before returning to the role throughout the 70s. Håkan “Hooken” Nilsson has tragically passed away after a short illness at his home in Victoria, BC, Canada on November 9th. Håkan was a key player in MRC's 1st XV during the 70s and 80s. A very strong prop and a fantastic tackler who played more than 100 games for the club and scored almost 100 points – not bad for a first liner!
