Håkan "Hooken" Nilsson has passed away

Håkan “Hooken” Nilsson has tragically passed away after a short illness at his home in Victoria, BC, Canada on November 9th.

Håkan was a key player in MRC's 1st XV during the 70s and 80s. A very strong prop and a fantastic tackler who played more than 100 games for the club and scored almost 100 points – not bad for a first liner! Håkan also represented Sweden in both the U23 and National teams.

Surely the rugby fields are both soft and beautifully green where he is now and of course he will be selected in the 1st XV when it is time for the next match. Hooken was 68 years old.
