Rolf Wilke – one of the greats in both MRC and Swedish rugby has passed away. Rolf started playing rugby in the club as early as 1954 and over time there were a total of 316 matches for the club and several SM gold medals. He was team captain for many years and in 1962 he became chairman for a short period, before returning to the role throughout the 70s. Rolf also had leadership duties on the SRF board, a job that he began as early as 1960 and which he continued with until 1972. In addition to this, he was also very involved in both the Nordic Rugby Union and the Skåne Rugby Union. For his contributions to Swedish sport, Rolf was awarded the RF's Gold Service Medal in 1977. Rolf was 83 years old.
